The Need for “Redlines”
God demands obedience if one is to be in a soul-saving relationship with Him. There is work to be done. There are instructions to follow. The work involves seeking to rescue the human race from the death-grip of sin. Every person on the planet should be working toward that goal, by believing and sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said in Luke 11:23, “He that is not with me is against me; and he that gather not with me scatters.”
In many ways individuals and groups have committed the crime of neglect. It’s a neglect that allows countless souls to enter into eternal torment, without being told how to avoid it. Neglect on the part of those that should know the Scripture, allows multitudes to go through meaningless lives in this world; trying to cope with drugs, illicit sex, and the distractions of technology. Churches have not followed the example of Jesus Christ and the first apostles. They have been “gathering” in a material way, but they have been “scattering” spiritually. They have large, lavish buildings, which attract large amounts of people, which bring large amounts of money.
But they have strayed away from the unwavering message of the gospel of Christ. The true gospel is a strict, demanding message! To obtain salvation requires undergoing a painful experience, which brings about the deaths of the “old you”. [1 Peter 4:1; Romans 6:6; Galatians 5:24]. However, it is the gateway to a new, abundant life; by the working of the Holy Spirit. That means an individual becomes a saint, and ceases being a sinner. As long as they remain obedient in the faith, they will not be guilty of the crime of working against Jesus.
It’s Dangerous to “Tinker” with Perfection
God has not authorized any person or group to change Christianity from the way it was started by Jesus Christ. Changes have not worked. Churches, using man-made methods, have produced too many church “zombies”; Churchgoers that profess to be alive spiritually, but instead they are spiritually dead, as Jesus states in Revelation 3:1. Churchgoers have become “easy pickings” for the System of the Beast, and its massive assault of Peace and Prosperity. God’s word says this would bring widespread spiritual death on people of the church, especially in the last days. [Daniel 7:21 and 8:23-25; Revelation 13:7]. Even those that are not part of a religious organization, be they a saint or sinner, are finding it more difficult to live a spiritual life that’s acceptable to God. (The way to overcome the challenge is found on the “Another Cross” page of this website.)
One of the main objectives of Jesus Christ was to establish His church on earth. And through HIS church, people were to be prepared to continue His work, the same as He had done, without change. This was to be accomplished by Jesus working in, and through, His people by the Holy Spirit [Hebrews 13:8; Matthew 28:19, 20]. Humans cannot fully understand the ways and means of God; which is another reason why man should not change what God has ordained, and replace it with his own ideas. Jesus said in Matthew 16:18, “…upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” Which means His church would be built on the foundation of the identity of Jesus, as the Christ of God; and is to be operated according to His word. Since this profile of church has largely ignored, many individuals and institutions cease to be part of the church that Jesus is the head of; even though they may use the name Jesus and/or Christ in their name! Anyway, in the Bible the word “church” refers to a group of people that propose to follow Jesus; not a building or institution. A person is not required to “join” any institution or organization in order to receive salvation; we must all join Jesus by the Holy Spirit to receive salvation!
