It looks good. It is sought after by many. But it can be like the story of the woman that befriended the beautiful snake. The woman was shocked after being bitten, but the snake said “you knew I was a snake when you took me in”. Likewise, most people do not consider the danger that wealth can bring. They remain unaware; even though God’s word, the holy Bible, sounds the alarm in many passages. The danger comes when a person allows money, and the things it can buy, to become their primary source of fulfillment and satisfaction; instead of God.
The ill effects, or the insufficiency of wealth is constantly on display in the media as well. There we see many discontented and unfulfilled rich people. With abundant wealth many have experienced all that the world has to offer. After reaching the limits of this world, some turn to exploits beyond this world. This is seen in the field of space exploration, and in seeking scientific ways to live forever. It is also evident that these pathways lead to dead ends, as well.
So, with their hopes and dreams betrayed by fame and fortune, and what money can buy, countless people do not know where to turn. Yet, Jesus Christ has been calling out, through his word and his Spirit, “come unto me…”.
The reason that people should come to Jesus Christ is not just because of the emotional damage suffered in this world; but because the worst damage is afflicted on the eternal spirit and soul. The spirit and soul, the inward man, can only find success by being obedient to God. Otherwise, everything else becomes a false God that cannot deliver what is needed.
The rise of wealth in this world makes money accessible to more than corporate leaders, entertainers, and sports figures. It has given rise to run away materialism, enjoyed by nearly every strata of society, in many countries. But some have considered it as a disease; and thereby named it “affluenza”. It can give a false sense of security, while bringing on a case of spiritual death.
Of course, some have tried to make the most of both worlds: the material, or natural, world and the spiritual. The greatest example of this is seen in the popular preaching of the “prosperity gospel”. The “prosperity gospel” is a gross corruption of the gospel of Christ; and it has fulfilled Bible prophecies that speak of spiritual death and destruction in church institutions. These are events that were to occur in the last days.
This is a sure word of prophecy that is warning us about a dark cloud of doom and gloom that’s hanging over our head right now! It does not matter if you are a church member or not; church members are the main target, according to the prophecies. So, no matter who you are you must know how to deal with this threat to your eternal well-being; or BE DOOMED!
You must deal with this threat in a way that assures you of being accepted in God’s eternal kingdom when Jesus returns for his people. This event is known as the Rapture. To be ready you must make sure you understand the requirements of biblical Christianity. You must receive what is clearly stated in the New Testament of the Holy Bible (the King James version is more precise). You should not depend on the doctrines of any church group or denomination; many have clearly modified their beliefs to make them appeal to more people, to get more money. This brings damnation on them; their faulty doctrines can also bring damnation on you.
Of course, this is a major fight! A critical faith! That’s why Jesus said in Matthew 7:14 that only a few will make it! That’s why you must learn biblical Christianity for yourself; and with a lot of prayer, make sure your life forms exactly to God’s word.
You must know how to allow God to work in you to implement biblical Christianity in your life. You have a role to play, even though God does the major work.
